Who we are
Synapse Team is a web development agency. The controller of personal data collected through synapseteam.com and synapseteam.com.ua is SynapseTeam OÜ (Estonia). In Ukraine we work through LLC «Synapse Team» and LLC «Synapse Group».

What data we collect
- Data you give us in the brief chat or by email: your contact (email, Telegram, WhatsApp or phone), the task description, your answers to the brief questions, links to or files with specs and mockups, and a convenient time for a call.
- Technical data sent with a request: the site language and the page it came from, the traffic source (ad tags such as UTM, the referring site, the entry page), the pages viewed in that visit, device type, browser, language and time zone, IP address and the approximate country. If you allow analytics cookies, the site keeps the traffic source in your browser’s local storage and sends it to us only together with a request.
- Usage data collected by analytics and advertising services: pages visited, device and browser, approximate location and the traffic source. These services work only with your consent to cookies. On synapseteam.com.ua we also use Ahrefs Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.
Please do not send sensitive data (health, finances, documents) in the chat.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To answer your request and prepare an estimate, to negotiate and sign a contract: steps at your request before a contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
- To keep the site secure and working: our legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)).
- To understand how the site is used and to measure advertising: your consent (art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
- To meet legal obligations, for example accounting: art. 6(1)(c).
AI in the brief chat
To ask precise follow-up questions, the brief chat sends your answers to AI models by Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT) or Google (Gemini). The models do not make decisions about you: the estimate is always prepared and sent by our team. We use these models under their paid commercial API terms, under which data sent through the API is not used to train the models by default.
Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with providers that help us run the site and the business:
- hosting in the European Union, where the site and the CMS run;
- Anthropic, OpenAI and Google, the AI models behind the brief chat;
- analytics and advertising services, for example Google Analytics, only with your consent;
- Clutch, whose reviews widget is shown on the site;
- email and messenger services you chose for contact.
When data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or another safeguard provided by the GDPR.
How long we keep data
- Requests from the chat and related correspondence: 2 years after our last contact.
- Data related to a signed contract: as long as the law requires.
- Analytics data: according to the settings of the analytics service.
Cookies
- Necessary cookies keep the site working and do not require consent.
- Analytics and advertising cookies are set only after you agree in the cookie notice. You can change your choice at any time via «Cookie settings» at the bottom of every page or in your browser settings.
- The Clutch widget may set its own cookies according to Clutch’s policy.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format and withdraw your consent. Write to welcome@synapseteam.com and we will answer within 30 days.
You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Estonia, the Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon); in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
Security
The site works over an encrypted connection, and only team members who need the data for their work can access it. If a data breach affects your rights, we will notify you and the supervisory authority as the law requires.
Children and changes to this policy
The site is not intended for people under 16. We update this policy when the way we process data changes; the date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
